Pi Day Aldenham School 2015 Photo Credit Heather Sherman14th March, or 3/14, is celebrated by mathematicians all over the world as π day. It was particularly special as this year read as 3.14.15 or the first 4 decimal places of the number π .

Year 8 invited Year 6 to join them for a ‘Pi’ competition, where students had to accurately measure distances using only circular objects.

They learnt how to find circumference and the importance of accurate measuring. It was a pleasure to see the students working so well together.

Well done to all and congratulations to our three winners David, Shahvaiz and Ayumi.
