I studied for a Music degree at Roehampton Institute in South West London and from there stayed on to complete a PGCE Secondary in Music. I have taught Music in 3 different schools over the last 14 years and for 12 of those years have been head of department.

More recently I have become interested in using social media as a tool for professional development and as a result have attended 2 TeachMeets (1 at Bentley Wood High School in Harrow and #PedagooLondon at the Institute of Education). Both events have really made me realise that there are so many teachers out there who want the opportunity to share good practice and network with other like-minded people and this prompted me to organise a TeachMeet at my school. I am very excited about the event and am really looking forward to meeting new people and sharing ideas.

You can also look at Pedagoo.org for more information about new initiatives in teaching practice.
